Set Your Page in Motion: 7 Cinematic Video Backgrounds

Linkhiver Pro pages can now run a looping video scene behind everything — ink, rain, embers, ocean, bokeh, smoke or drifting clouds — engineered to play smoothly on every phone.

A bio page has about two seconds to say "this person is worth your tap." Color helps. Typography helps. But nothing says crafted like motion — and starting today, Linkhiver Pro pages can run a cinematic, looping video scene behind everything you've built.

The seven scenes

We didn't bolt on a stock-video picker. We built a small, curated library — seven slow, atmospheric loops, each color-graded to sit behind your content, never compete with it:

  • Ink drift — ink blooming through dark water. Moody, editorial.
  • Rain glass — rain sliding down glass. Calm and focused.
  • Slow embers — warm sparks rising. Cozy, intimate, late-night.
  • Deep current — deep-ocean light. Quiet and vast.
  • Night bokeh — city lights melted into soft circles. Nightlife, events, music.
  • Smoke veil — slow smoke curling through darkness. Dramatic, minimal.
  • Cloud drift — bright sky in motion. Open, optimistic, daytime.

They join the premium background set, bringing it to sixteen scenes in total.

Engineered for phones, not showreels

Video backgrounds have a bad reputation on the mobile web, and it's deserved: autoplaying video is usually the heaviest thing on a page. So we spent most of this project on the part you don't see:

  • Every phone plays it. Each scene ships with an H.264 master specifically for iOS and Safari, which won't play the formats many sites rely on.
  • Nothing breaks if video can't play. On a slow connection or with data saving on, the scene falls back to a matching color gradient — your page never shows a black hole.
  • The picker previews live. Each tile in the background picker plays a thumbnail encode, so you choose by watching, not guessing.

Which scene for which page?

A quick pairing guide: musicians and DJs lean into night bokeh or smoke veil; coaches and wellness pages breathe with rain glass or cloud drift; writers and photographers get an editorial edge from ink drift; cafés and evening venues glow with slow embers; and deep current fits anyone whose brand whispers rather than shouts.

How to turn it on

  1. Open Design → Background in your dashboard.
  2. Switch to the video row of the scene gallery.
  3. Tap a scene — the live preview shows your page with it immediately.
  4. Save. Done.

Video backgrounds are part of Linkhiver Pro ($6/month or $45/year), alongside premium themes, animated headers, your own domain and audience exports. See everything that shipped this month on the What's new page.
