Linkhiver for Chrome puts a button in your toolbar and an entry in your right-click menu. Press it on any page and your Linkhiver links page opens with the address and the title already filled in. You decide where it goes, and you are the one who presses Save.

How it works

Three steps, and the third one is yours.

    Add it to Chrome

    One click from the Chrome Web Store. The extension has no account and no sign-up of its own.

  2. 2

    Click, or right-click

    The toolbar button saves the page you are on. Right-click instead and you can save the page, a link you are pointing at, or text you have selected.

  3. 3

    Check it, then save

    Linkhiver opens with the address and title filled in. Nothing is written to your page until you press Save yourself.

What it can and cannot see

The short version: it reads the tab you are on at the moment you click it, and nothing else, ever.

  • No host permissions. The extension runs no script on the pages you visit and cannot read what is on them.
  • activeTab gives it the address and title of the current tab, and only at the moment you click. Chrome files that capability under "Web history" on the store listing — that label is what it covers, and that is the whole of it.
  • storage keeps two preferences in your own browser: the language Linkhiver opens in, and a local address used only for development. Neither leaves your machine.
  • The extension sends no requests of its own and carries no analytics. It has nowhere to send them.

Is the extension free?
Yes, and it works on the free Linkhiver plan. Your plan's link limit still applies — ten links on Free, fifty on Pro.
Do I need a Linkhiver account?
Yes, a free one. The extension has no account of its own: it opens Linkhiver in a new tab using the session you are already signed in with.
Which browsers does it work in?
Google Chrome. It is a Manifest V3 extension published on the Chrome Web Store; there is no Firefox or Safari build.
Does it read the pages I visit?
No. With no host permissions it cannot run on a page or read its content. All it ever receives is the address and title of the tab you are on, at the moment you click.
