Popl alternative: Linkhiver vs Popl, compared for 2026

Popl is the NFC business card most people have seen on TikTok, and it has moved on since: on the App Store it is now called “Popl: AI Lead Capture”, while its store address still reads popl-digital-business-card. It sells badge scanning and CRM-fed lead capture to sales teams, and its pricing page carries no price — you book a demo. Linkhiver publishes what it costs, and its business card sits on a public page with your links, QR codes and shop.

Quick answer

Linkhiver is a Popl alternative at a published $6/month, with two business cards, five QR codes, a bio page and a link shortener on the free plan — while Popl publishes no price at all and quotes after a demo. Popl has NFC hardware, event badge scanning and CRM integrations that Linkhiver does not (as of September 2026).

Summary

  • Popl's pricing page lists no tier, no per-seat figure and no annual figure. Checked 13 September 2026: it offers a demo booking instead.
  • Popl is built for a booth — badge scanner, qualifying questions, leads pushed into Salesforce or HubSpot. Linkhiver does none of that and the table says so.
  • Linkhiver's $6/month covers twenty business cards, fifty links, twenty QR codes, a hundred short links and a custom domain, on a page anyone can open.

When Popl fits better

An honest list — Popl is built for a job Linkhiver does not do:

  • You work trade shows and conferences. Scanning a badge and qualifying the lead on the spot is Popl's whole product.
  • Leads have to reach Salesforce or HubSpot without anyone retyping them.
  • You want physical NFC cards and tags for a team, and a quote is a normal way for you to buy software.

When Linkhiver fits better

Choose Linkhiver if these sound like you:

  • You want to know the price before you commit an hour to a demo. Linkhiver's is on the pricing page.
  • You are one person, not a sales team with a booth budget.
  • The card is one of several things you hand out — the free plan also holds a bio page, five QR codes, ten links and ten short links.
  • You sell something. A free shop, email capture and a year of per-link click stats are on the same page as the card.

Switching from Popl to Linkhiver

  1. Create your free Linkhiver page and claim your username — that address is what your card points at.
  2. Build your business card: name, role, company, phone, email and socials. Two cards are free.
  3. Export the contacts you collected in Popl before you cancel, so the list is yours either way.
  4. Re-point your NFC tags if they can be rewritten — most write a plain URL, and yours is now your Linkhiver address.
  5. Add a QR code for anything printed, and keep the Popl card live for a few weeks so saved links still work.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Popl cost?

Popl does not say. Checked on September 13, 2026, popl.co/pages/pricing lists no tier, no per-seat price and no annual price — it describes uncapped usage and invites you to book a demo for a quote. The individual app is a free download on the App Store. If you need a number before a sales call, that is the difference this page is about: Linkhiver Pro is $6/month, printed on its pricing page.

Is Popl still a digital business card?

Yes, and it is also more than that now. Its App Store listing is titled “Popl: AI Lead Capture” while the store address still reads popl-digital-business-card, and the pricing page leads with event lead capture, badge scanning and CRM sync. The card is still there; the product around it is now aimed at sales teams working events.

Does Linkhiver do NFC cards or badge scanning?

No to both. Linkhiver has no hardware and no badge scanner. Your card is shared by QR code, by link, or saved into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet on Pro. For incoming messages Linkhiver has a WhatsApp request block — a visitor leaves their name, number and question, and the conversation continues in WhatsApp — which is not the same thing as scanning a conference badge.

Can Linkhiver push leads into Salesforce or HubSpot?

No. Linkhiver has no CRM integrations. It has a subscriber list you can export to CSV on Pro, and webhooks that fire when someone subscribes, which a developer can wire into another system. If contacts must land in a CRM by themselves, Popl does that and Linkhiver does not.

Which one is right for one person?

Usually Linkhiver, because most of what Popl charges for is built for a team at an event: badge scanning, qualifying questions, CRM routing, admin control. One person handing out a card mostly needs the card, somewhere for it to lead, and a QR code for print — which is the free plan here. If you personally work booths every month, Popl is aimed squarely at you.

Where our incentives sit

A comparison written by one of the two products is only worth reading if you can see what the author stands to gain. Here is ours, and what you can check without taking our word for it.

We are never in your payment path

Linkhiver does not process sales, tips or subscriptions, so there is no cut for us to take. Link a Shopify, Ko-fi or Gumroad storefront from your page and the buyer pays that storefront directly — the money never passes through us. That is structural rather than a promise: we cannot start taking a percentage of something we never handle.

No ads on your page, on either plan

Your page carries your links and nothing we sold to somebody else. The free plan shows a small Linkhiver badge, which Pro removes; that badge is the only thing on your page you did not put there.

Our own counters are rounded down

The creator, page-view and click totals on our home page are read live from the database, floored to the nearest step and shown with a plus, so they can only understate. The real figure is a few hundred creators, and that is what we print.

A claim we have withdrawn fails our build

An audit in August 2026 found inflated numbers on this site: a template count, a hardcoded view count, a user count. Each was corrected, and a test now scans all seven language catalogs on every deploy and refuses to build if one of them comes back.

Prices on this page are in US dollars, because that is how each vendor publishes them. Linkhiver Pro is billed in local currency where we have set one; the exact amount appears at checkout.

The price is on the page. So is the card.
