Where your link-in-bio traffic actually comes from
Your analytics page now opens with one real number from your own traffic, free: how much of your referred visits came from a single platform in the last 30 days. Here is how to read it — and what to do when one platform sends almost everything.
Most link-in-bio dashboards answer one question: how many people came? That number rises when you post and falls when you don't, and on its own it never tells you what to change.
The more useful question is where they came from. Your Linkhiver analytics page now answers part of that for free, with your own data: the share of your referred visits in the last 30 days that arrived from a single platform.
What the number is
The line reads like this: 76% of your referred visits in the last 30 days came from a single platform. The figure is yours, calculated from your own page views. The platform's name is the part included with Pro.
Two details matter for reading it correctly.
- The denominator is referred visits, not all visits. A referred visit is one that arrived with a recognisable platform behind it: Instagram (including Instagram DM links), Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube, Google, WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn. Visits that arrive with no referrer at all, and visits from sites we cannot classify, are left out of this one calculation.
- The window is always the last 30 days, whichever range tab you have open. Seven days is too short for most pages to say anything stable about sources.
Bot traffic is excluded, as it is everywhere else on the page.
Why "direct" is not the answer
A large share of link-in-bio traffic arrives with no referrer. In-app browsers strip it, some apps never send it, and a link typed or pasted by hand carries nothing at all. Those visits are real people, but "direct" is not a place you can go and post more.
That is why this figure counts only platforms with a name. A number telling you that most of your traffic came from nowhere identifiable would be true and useless. A number telling you that three-quarters of your referred traffic came from one platform is something you can act on the same day.
What to do with it
- One platform above 70%? Your page has a single point of failure. An algorithm change, a shadowban or a week off that account takes most of your traffic with it. The fix is not to post less there — it is to give a second platform a real link in bio and watch this number move.
- The split is even? You are less fragile than most creators, and you can afford to experiment on one channel without risking the whole page.
- The number is high but visits are low? Concentration is not the problem yet. Reach is. Work on the post that carries the link before you work on the mix.
What Pro adds
The figure is free because it is yours. What Pro unlocks is the rest of the picture on the same page: which platform it is, the full traffic-source table with every source and its count, the device split, and the country breakdown — plus the CSV export of the underlying events.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the percentage bigger than I expected?
Because the denominator is referred visits only. If 100 people visited and 40 arrived from a recognised platform, 30 of them from Instagram, the line reads 75% — not 30%. The full breakdown in Pro shows both the referred sources and the visits with no referrer, side by side.
I don't see a number at all.
The line appears once a single platform has sent at least 5 visits in the last 30 days. Below that, a percentage would be arithmetic about a handful of clicks, so the card shows its general description instead.
Does it change when I switch to 7 days?
No. The other cards follow the range you pick; this one is always the last 30 days, and it says so.
Does it count clicks on my links?
No — it counts visits to your page. Per-link clicks and click-through rates live on the Links page, and each link has its own deep dive there.
