Instagram Bio Ideas for Business: 42 Copy-and-Paste Examples (2026)

A business bio has three seconds to say what you sell, who it's for and where to get it. Here are 42 Instagram bio ideas for business, sorted by type, plus a template you can fill in right now.

A personal bio can afford to be mysterious. A business bio cannot. Someone who lands on your profile from a tagged post or a search result decides in about three seconds whether you sell the thing they want — and if the bio doesn't say, they leave.

Below are 42 Instagram bio ideas for business, grouped by what kind of business you run: local shops and cafés, online stores, services and agencies, coaches and freelancers, restaurants, and studios. Every one fits Instagram's 150-character limit, and every one is new — none of them repeat the examples in our 50 Instagram bio ideas list. Copy the closest, then swap in your own numbers, place and offer.

What every business bio needs

Before the examples, the four things a business bio has to do — in this order:

  • Say what you sell in searchable words. "Wedding cakes · Denver" is a search someone makes; "Sweet moments, baked with love" is not. Put the plain product noun in line one, and put it in your name field too, which Instagram search weights more.
  • Say who it's for or why it's different. One line: the customer, the specialism, or the thing competitors don't do.
  • Give one piece of proof. A number, a year, a stockist, a press mention. One concrete fact beats three adjectives.
  • Point at the next step. The last line names what's behind the link: "Order below", "Book a free call", "This week's menu". A bare URL is not a call to action.

Everything else — address, hours, phone, email — belongs in Instagram's contact buttons and category label, not in your 150 characters.

Local shops and cafés

Local businesses win on place and immediacy. Say where you are and what happens today.

  1. 🌿 Plant shop in Portland's Alberta district | Rare aroids & easy starters | Care guides below ⬇️
  2. ☕ Flat whites, cardamom buns, no laptops after 11 | Open 7–3 daily | Today's bake 👇
  3. 🚲 Bike repairs while you wait · Brooklyn | Free safety check with every service | Book below
  4. 📚 Indie bookshop since 1998 · Edinburgh | Signed copies & Tuesday readings | Event list ⬇️
  5. 🧵 Fabric, patterns & Saturday sewing classes | Manchester Northern Quarter | Class calendar 👇
  6. 🐾 Dog grooming with zero cages · Austin | Anxious pups welcome | Book a spot below ⬇️
  7. 💐 Same-day flowers across Dublin | Order by 1pm, delivered by 6 | Order here 👇

Why these work: a neighbourhood, a specific hour or cut-off, and one policy customers care about ("no laptops", "zero cages"). That is what a local search is looking for.

Online stores and product brands

An online store bio has to replace the shop window: what it is, what makes it worth the shipping, and where to buy.

  1. 🧦 Merino socks that outlast the boots | Knitted in Wales, shipped worldwide | Shop the range ⬇️
  2. 🕯️ Soy candles poured in small batches | 40-hour burn, no paraffin | New scents monthly 👇
  3. 👜 Leather bags with a 10-year repair promise | Made in Florence | See the collection ⬇️
  4. 🍵 Single-origin matcha, harvest-dated | Free shipping over $40 | Order below 👇
  5. 🎧 Refurbished headphones, 2-year warranty | Half the price, same sound | Shop deals ⬇️
  6. 🧸 Toys made from recycled ocean plastic | Safe for 0+ | Free UK returns | Shop 👇
  7. 🌶️ Small-batch hot sauces, heat 1–10 rated | Ships in 48h | Try the sampler ⬇️

Why these work: every line answers a buying objection — durability, shipping, returns, warranty — before the customer has to ask.

Services and agencies

Service businesses sell an outcome. Lead with the result, follow with who you do it for, then prove it.

  1. 📈 SEO for dentists & clinics | 3× more bookings in 6 months, on average | Free audit below ⬇️
  2. 🎨 Logos & brand systems for food brands | 80+ launches since 2019 | Book a call 👇
  3. 🧾 Bookkeeping for freelancers who hate spreadsheets | Fixed monthly price | Get a quote ⬇️
  4. 📸 Product photography for Shopify stores | 48h turnaround | Portfolio & pricing 👇
  5. 🏠 Cleaning that shows up on time · Chicago | Insured, vetted, same team every visit | Book ⬇️
  6. 🎬 Short-form video editing for coaches | 20 clips/month plans | Samples below 👇
  7. 🔧 Plumbing, 24/7, no call-out fee · Leeds | 4.9★ from 600 reviews | Call or book ⬇️

Why these work: the customer type is named in line one, so the right person feels addressed and the wrong person leaves quietly — which is fine.

Coaches, consultants and freelancers

One-person businesses need a bio that sounds like a person and sells like a company. Name the transformation, then the proof, then the door in.

  1. 💼 Career coach for engineers moving into management | 300+ promoted | Free 20-min call ⬇️
  2. ✍️ Copywriter for SaaS launches | Emails, landing pages, onboarding | Work with me 👇
  3. 🧘 Yoga for desk workers · online & Bristol | Beginners welcome | First class free ⬇️
  4. 📊 Fractional CFO for startups under $5M | Ex-Stripe finance | Book a strategy call 👇
  5. 🗣️ Public speaking coach | From shaky hands to keynote | 1:1 & workshops | Start here ⬇️
  6. 🌐 Webflow developer | Marketing sites in 2 weeks, not 2 months | Recent builds 👇
  7. 🎓 Piano lessons for adults who quit as kids | Online, no theory homework | Book a trial ⬇️

Why these work: "for engineers moving into management", "for adults who quit as kids" — the narrower the person, the stronger the pull for that person.

Restaurants, food and drink

Food bios sell the next meal. Hours, the dish people come for, and how to get a table or a delivery.

  1. 🍕 Wood-fired pizza, 90-second bake | Tue–Sun from 5pm | Book a table below ⬇️
  2. 🌮 Tacos from a truck that moves | Today's location 👇 | Cash & card
  3. 🍜 Ramen made from a 20-hour broth | Kitchen closes 10pm | Walk-ins & pre-orders ⬇️
  4. 🍩 Sourdough doughnuts, sold out most days by noon | Pre-order for pickup 👇
  5. 🍷 Natural wine bar & bottle shop · Lisbon | Tasting flights Thursdays | Reserve ⬇️
  6. 🥗 Meal prep delivered Sundays · Denver | 5 meals from $45 | Order by Friday 👇
  7. 🍰 Custom cakes, 2-week lead time | Gluten-free options | Enquire below ⬇️

Why these work: scarcity and timing ("sold out by noon", "order by Friday") are true, useful and drive action without a single adjective.

Studios, salons and wellness

Appointment businesses need the bio to remove friction: who it's for, what to expect, and the booking link.

  1. 💇 Curly-hair specialists · Toronto | Cuts on dry hair, no straightening | Book online ⬇️
  2. 💪 Small-group strength training | Max 6 per class | First week free 👇
  3. 💅 Nail studio with a no-rush policy | 90-min appointments | Book below ⬇️
  4. 🧖 Sauna & cold plunge studio · Melbourne | Walk-ins welcome | Memberships 👇
  5. 🦷 Dental clinic that explains the bill first | Saturday hours | Book a check-up ⬇️
  6. 🎨 Pottery classes for total beginners · Berlin | 6-week courses | Next start date 👇
  7. 🧘 Pilates studio, reformer & mat | 20 classes/week | Intro offer below ⬇️

Why these work: each removes a specific fear — "no straightening", "no-rush", "explains the bill first" — that stops people booking.

A fill-in template for your business bio

If none of the 42 is close enough, build your own in four lines:

[emoji] [What you sell] · [Place or audience]
[The thing that makes you different or the customer you serve]
[One number, year, award or policy]
[What's behind the link] ⬇️

Worked example for a bakery:

🥐 Sourdough bakery · Camden
Everything baked before 6am, gone by 2
Est. 2016 · 4.9★ on Google
Pre-order this week's loaves ⬇️

Keep each line under 40 characters and the whole thing lands under 150. Paste it into the free Instagram bio character counter to be sure, and check the line breaks in the bio preview.

Make it yours

Copying gets you a draft. The bios that bring customers are specific: your neighbourhood, your real number, your actual cut-off time. The step-by-step method — which line does which job, what to cut when you're over 150 — is in how to write a bio for Instagram. If you want a few tailored starting points for your niche and tone, the free Instagram bio generator writes them in your browser.

Every bio above ends by pointing at a link, and Instagram shows exactly one. For a business that means choosing between the shop, the booking page, the menu and the reviews — or changing the link every week and breaking last month's posts.

A link-in-bio page ends that choice: one link opens a page with your shop, booking, menu, map and contact options together, and you update the page instead of the bio. Linkhiver's free page for small businesses does this in about two minutes — ten links on the free plan, click analytics included, so you can see which of those buttons customers actually tap.

FAQ

What should a business Instagram bio say?

Four things, one per line: what you sell in plain searchable words, who it's for or why it's different, one piece of proof (a number, a year, a review score), and what's behind your link. Address, hours and contact details go in Instagram's dedicated fields, not the bio.

How long can an Instagram business bio be?

150 characters, the same as a personal account, including spaces, emojis and line breaks. The name field is a separate 64 characters and is searchable — put your product keyword there too.

Should I put my website in my Instagram bio text?

No. Instagram gives you a link field for that; a URL in the bio text isn't tappable and wastes characters. Use the bio's last line to say what the link leads to, and put the link itself in the link field.

Can I have more than one link in a business Instagram bio?

Instagram lets you add up to five links, but only the first is shown on your profile. Most businesses use a single link-in-bio page that holds the shop, booking, menu and contact links together so nothing is hidden behind a tap.

Do emojis look unprofessional in a business bio?

Not when they work as bullet points. One emoji at the start of a line reads as an icon; several in a row read as clutter. Match them to the business: a croissant for a bakery, a wrench for a plumber.
